Joey advises investment advisers on regulatory compliance matters and supports all aspects of compliance programs, including registrations, policies and procedures, regulatory filings, and examinations. His experience includes a mix of law firm, in-house and compliance consulting roles with a focus on investment advisers of private funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, and hybrid funds.

Prior to joining Pillar, Joey served as Chief Compliance Officer at Rose Park Advisors, LLC, an investment adviser applying the theory and frameworks of disruptive innovation in venture capital investments.

He was previously at ACA Group advising investment advisers of private funds on all aspects of their compliance programs. Prior to ACA, Joey served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at a quantitative hedge fund manager. He was also an Associate in the Investment Management group at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, advising private investment funds on formation, securities law, and regulatory compliance matters. He also served as an in-house corporate attorney at Teneo Holdings LLC and Castleton Commodities International LLC.
